Setup 4G modem- Mikrotik

Important! LTE sim is required-See June or Crishla


Mikrotik 4G modem


NOTE: Mikrotik Chateau LTE6 modems - Must load file name: routeros-7.12.1-arm.npk once logging into config page.


Step 1: Open 192.168.88.1 (IP link for website, this can also be found under the modem) 



Step 2: Username: admin

Password: (Password is under the modem on LTE6 model if LTE12 model there is no password leave as blank and continue)


Step 3: Update password for Admin login

  • Current Password: Password under the modem
  • Enter in New Password and Confirmed Password with the same password.

Notes: 

“Sales Team uses adslr00t for this login you can make up your own or use the same as we do.”


“If the modem already was configured and you just login to check or change something. You wont need to do steps 2 and 3. You will enter in the admin credentials to get to Webfig page”


Step 4: Go to Webfig - Interface - LTE - LTE APNs


Step 5: Click to edit Default

  • Name: BBo4G
  • APN: radapn
  • Enable tick “Use Network APN”
  • Authentication: PAP
  • Username: (Broadband username)
  • Password: (Broadband password)
  • ”Apply” and “OK”

Step 6: Click line where LTE1 is and remove tick in network mode for 3G leave tick for 4G (NOTE: If programming Chateau LTE leave tick for 3G)

  • Change APN Profile to BBo4G
  • Apply and OK

Step 7: Wireless Setup

  • Click Wireless
  • Click line for WLAN1 Update SSID (Customer Wireless Name)
  • Band: 2GHz-B/G/N 
  • Apply and OK
  • Click line for WLAN2 Update SSID (Same Wireless Name as WLAN1)
  • Band: 5GHz-A/N/AC
  • Apply and OK
  • Click on Security Profiles
  • Click on line for Default
  • Change mode to Dynamics Keys
  • Click WPA2 PSK
  • Add wireless password in WPA2 Pre-Shared Key
  • Apply and OK

Step 8: Click on System - RouterBoard - Upgrade

Step 9: Click on Reboot - OK

“Wait for the reboot you will see the lights on the modem blink then reboot before continuing.”


Step 10: Click on Packages - Check Updates - Download & Install

“Wait for the reboot you will see the lights on the modem blink then reboot before continuing.”


Step 11: Click on Reboot - OK

“Wait for the reboot you will see the lights on the modem blink then reboot before continuing.”


Step 12: IP - Firewall - Add New

Chain: Input

Src Address: 202.65.32.200

Apply and Ok

IP - Cloud - Tick the box for DDNS

Apply

Move rule to the 3rd row (click and drag to the top)

Double click 


Test modem ensure login via wireless and cable works.

Check UTM there is a session for the Modem below is example of what it would look like:













Old 4G modems (Huawei models tower and square looking one)


Step 1: Open 192.168.8.1 (IP link for website, this can also be found under the modem)


Step 2: Username: admin

Password: admin


Step 3: SSID Details

  • Update SSID name (Customer Wireless name)
  • Tick box for modify Password
  • Enter Wireless password in Modify Password

Step 4: Tick box for update automatic


Step 5: Update password to “adslr00t” (only if a new modem otherwise need admin credentials from previous staff whom programmed the modem)


Step 7: Settings - Dialup Setup - Profile Management - Add New Profile

  • Service: BBoLTE
  • Username: (Broadband username)
  • Password: (Broadband password)
  • APN: radapn
  • Save

Step 8: Click Mobile Connectivity - Turn off data then back on again

Step 9: Return to home page and wait for connection

Step 10: Check UTM for connection once blue light for INET shows on the modem.


NOTE: For old LTE modems Dark Blue - 3G

This modem can also be programmed from your mobile phone providing you can access it wirelessly.
